LoL Patch 10.9 To Release Hero Changes, New Skins
Mark Yetter, League of Legends lead gameplay designer, reveals the details and new balance targets of patch 10.9 today on his official Twitter account. Although the specific features aren’t out yet, Yetter informed players of the brief overview.
Together with a screen capture of the patch 10.9 details, Yetter included a short reminder regarding the upcoming update: “Trying something new here by showing where specifically we see the champs over-performing that we intend to nerf. Let me know if you like this and if we should keep doing it. Not showing details like this for buffs bc they are under-performing generally.”
Patch 10.9 Overview
The champions who received buffs are Kayn, Lissandra, Fiddlesticks, Quinn, Gnar, and Cho’Gath. Depending on the impact of the buffs, it’s clear that Fiddlesticks had received far too many changes by now and Cho’Gath might finally become one of the strongest champion picks in the top lane. Cho’Gath is slowly getting popular in professional games.
Kayn, meanwhile, has already received some buffs to his orb gain recently, but updates from the previous two patches didn’t impact her as Riot thought it would be. The developers might fix this mistake in patch 10.9.
In other news, champions who receive nerfs include Wukong, Karthus, Trundle, Bard, and Nami. Surprisingly, Wukong gets another nerf despite dominating professional plays in the past updates. The new update might focus on his power in Platinum and higher ranks. Regardless of the update, Wukong remains one of the strongest champion picks in the mid, top, and jungle lane.
Aside from Wukong, another notable champion update is Trundle’s. He’s a very safe pick across all rankings, so Riot might strengthen some of his abilities, items, and powers a bit to improve his pick rate.
Aside from hero changes, Patch 10.9 enters the Public Beta Environment (PBE) with new FPX skins and balance changes. Some features might come at a later date. Fans and players are expecting five brand new skins to League of Legends: FPX Gangplank, FPX Lee Sin, FPX Malphite, FPX Thresh, and FPX Vayne skins—each one costs 1350 RP. Last but not least, expect Bitcoin LoL odds to shift as well once all patches are in effect in major and minor tournaments.
