LoL Patch 10.21: Preview And Highlights

League of Legends patch 10.21 is on its way, but it won’t affect the ongoing Worlds 2020 in any way. Instead, it allows players around the world to experience balanced champions and gameplay before the ranked season ends.

Mark ‘Scruffy’ Yetter, the Lead Champion Designer for League of Legends at Riot Games, released the preview of patch 10.21 on Twitter today. Highlighting the objective and main changes from the update, Riot Scruffy said:

“This won’t change worlds in any way but we’re keeping things as balanced as we can for the end of the ranked season. Long term we’re shifting Pantheon away from support and back into solo lanes.”

Riot Scruffy didn’t reveal the specific changes yet, but we have a brief overview of what the new patch might be including, especially in the champion department.

Lee Sin

Some champions on the list have been buffed and nerfed multiple times now since the preseason changes began. Lee Sin, for one, already had his Safe Guard (W) nerfed in the last update. Although the update is promising, Riot saw a big drop in his overall win rate for the jungle position. He could return to the meta at all lanes after patch 10.21, depending on how big the buff is.

Another champion who already received frequent updates is Aphelios. Over the last couple of patches, Riot Games nerfed and buffed him a number of times. However, he still holds one of the lowest win rates in the champion pool. For patch 10.21, fans and players are expecting some significant updates that could restore Aphelios’ former glory.

Samira, the newest addition to LoL’s champion pool, will receive major changes immediately after her release. The dev team believes that she still seems a bit overpowered as compared to other new champions.

Three of the games’ strongest jungler at the moment—Hecarim, Graves, and Nidalee, had their true strength exposed by professional players at the ongoing Worlds 2020. They have the highest presence in the jungle position, so the dev team wants to tone down their abilities.
